The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.
Escola joins several other new cast members set to bring the organization to the screen, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.
Though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
