Springer was instrumental for the Houston Astros securing the World Series in 2017.
Canada's MLB team reached their first championship series following the 1993 season by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.
Trailing three runs to one, Springer delivered a three-run home run in the seventh inning, propelling the only Canadian franchise in the majors to a 4-3 victory in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, holders of the current crown, in the anticipated championship.
"It's incredible for everyone here, the city, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 championship. "This is such an amazing experience."
The veteran has now slugged twenty-three post-season home runs, ranking him third on the list trailing only Manny Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that spot except for Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.
Seattle, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the one club that has never reached in a championship series.
Manager Dan Wilson commented "certainly that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their efforts this season.
"It's a special team. It's a shame that we ended up on the unsuccessful side of this game," he remarked.
Toronto's team claimed the World Series on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
