The UK is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of immobilized Russian funds to support Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.
In a joint statement, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.
They clarified that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the United States.
UK sanctions have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government began its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, resources provided to Ukraine using Russian funds had solely been drawn from profits and interest accrued on them.
Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward using the full value of the frozen Moscow's national funds to end the war.
He added that more sanctions soon would heighten the tension on Russia.
This statement is subsequent to EU leaders gathered in the Danish capital recently to consider employing seized Russia's holdings for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.
Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or employ frozen Russia's holdings, based on reports.
The value of immobilized Russia's funds in the European Union is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on recently, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

While applauding the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the system, as well as apply additional restrictions on Russia.
