American Military Conducts Lethal Attack in Pacific, Leading to Four Deaths

As stated by a senior military spokesperson, the US armed forces executed a lethal kinetic engagement on a vessel in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

“A US joint task force conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel linked to a Designated Terrorist Organization in open sea. Intelligence verified the vessel was transiting along a established drug smuggling route and was involved in illicit drug transport. All four male narco-terrorists were eliminated, and no US military forces were injured.”

Context and Recent Actions

This announcement comes a day after a declaration regarding a blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela. In that announcement on social media, the American leader accused Venezuela of using oil profits to fund drug trafficking and other crimes, vowing to increase the military presence.

Just on Tuesday, US defense officials said it had conducted strikes on three boats suspected of trafficking drugs in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Since 2 September, more than 20 military engagements have killed at least 99 individuals, most off the coast of Venezuela.

Government Defends Actions Amid Scrutiny

The government has encountered increasing pressure to make public video of a September 2nd vessel attack. However, officials have refused to do so. The administration has defended its efforts as a successful operation, arguing it has stopped drugs from reaching US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is stretching the bounds of legal military action.

Although the administration has stated the campaign is about halting drugs headed to the US, remarks from a senior aide appeared to suggest a broader political objective. In a recently published interview, the chief of staff said the president “wants to keep on blowing boats up until the Venezuelan president surrenders or concedes.”

This indicates the military campaign may be linked to a strategy to remove Venezuela's current government.
